I recorded my iMac crashing 3 times less than one hour before my appointment. Ive just returned home from a visit to the apple store in the UK. Not sure if a clean install would help avoid these issues. I'll let you know if I figure anything out.Įdit: Did you migrate from a previous install? I used Carbon Copy Cloner to migrate my data from my 2015 iMac. I think I may restart the machine and run the hardware test by restarting the machine while pressing the "D" key. The first one, from online searches, seems to be some type of CPU error. ![]() Another crash report has "CPU Machine Check Architecture Error Dump" as its first line. One was from a Kernel Panic and had a "x86 CPU CATERR detected" as the first line. ![]() Do you have anything plugged into the USB-C ports? The main option is to just unplug it for a few days and see if the crashes stop. Some other thoughts are that possibly my external monitor plugged in to the USB-C port is causing it? Hard to test that one though. Also I have a CADTools plug in that would need a $250 upgrade to work on CC 2020 and that isn't going to happen right now. ![]() I'm sticking with Illustrator CC 2019 because they changed the save format for CC 2020 and up and we need all the designers here at the company working on the same format. Illustrator is randomly crashing on it's own aside from the whole machine shutting down. My computer crashed twice yesterday after turning that off. Turning GPU acceleration off in Illy CC 2019 hasn't seemed to help.
